Firebricks & Insulating Bricks

  • 40% alumina
  • 70% alumina
  • Zirconia 2000°C

Four brick grades cover most furnace work. 40% alumina is the general-duty workhorse at 1600°C, stocked in standard, arch, split and slab shapes for curved and flat builds. 70% alumina handles 1800°C with the slag resistance and hot strength steel furnaces and ladles demand. Zirconia reaches 2000°C where alumina gives out, and lightweight insulating brick cuts wall losses at around 2kg apiece.

Applications

  • Furnace and kiln linings
  • Steel ladles and hot-metal handling
  • Boilers, incinerators and fireplaces
  • Arch and dome construction
  • Back-up and cold-face insulation

Advantages

  • Four grades from general duty to 2000°C
  • Arch, split and slab shapes for curved builds
  • 70% alumina resists slag and holds load when hot
  • Insulating brick at ~2kg cuts fuel and handling
