Thermal & Acoustic Insulation

Rockwool Insulation

  • 1000°C
  • 50 – 150 kg/m³
  • Roll, slab & pipe

Rockwool is spun from molten basalt, which gives it three properties at once: it insulates, it absorbs sound and it does not burn. Rolls with wire mesh hold their shape on tanks, ducts and hot pipework; rigid slabs suit walls, roofs and equipment; and preformed sections lag pipe from ½ inch up to 6 inch bore without cutting.

Applications

  • Steam and process pipework lagging
  • Tank, duct and boiler insulation
  • Wall, roof and floor thermal insulation
  • Acoustic partitions and floating floors
  • Passive fire protection

Advantages

  • Non-combustible — adds nothing to fire spread
  • Thermal and acoustic performance in one material
  • Wire-mesh rolls stay put on curved plant
  • Preformed sections fit pipe bore straight off the shelf
